Fabric Pinboard - Make&Take Workshop, keeping it round!
2-4.30pm Saturday 13th June
A friendly fun filled session of making - working with modern and traditional upholstery tools and techniques - and sustainable and eco-minded materials.
We will make a round modern upholstered cork lined pinboard for you to take away on the day. We will affix a sawtooth hook to the reverse, so that the pinboard can then be hung on a standard picture hook
You will have a choice of colour ways - we work with deadstock Linwood velvets, sustainable cork sheeting & quality french elastic - there are a number of designs that you can follow, or create your own!
We will be working in my Studio in Star Brewery in the heart of Lewes it is a very special building where artists, ceramicists, potters, bookbinders & jewellers all practice their craft, we will be surrounded (!) by my tools, materials, work and reference materials.
We will work in a small group, and the emphasis is on learning together and creating something beautiful and useful.
2.5 hrs, of friendly fun filled making
All tools and materials for use during the workshop, everyone takes home their own 'me made' cork lined pinboard - your choice of beautiful luxe deadstock velvets or original coffee sack - what will you choose?
Suitable for absolute novices and craft lovers alike - we will work with simple tools and techniques and everyone will leave with their own pinboard
You choose between 60,50,40cm diameter. Light enough to carry home on the bus/train/tube ... maybe even on a bicycle
How do I fix it to the wall? Sawtooth hook will be fitted to the reverse, pinboard can then be hung on a standard picture hook
Other stuff : Choice of coffee sacks & bunjee cords, your design - made using upholstery techniques with a selection of wonderful original hessian coffee sacks, sustainable cork, quality trims - as you would expect

A full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. If you can't attend the workshop inside of the 4 weeks, whilst I can't refund you, I will make up a pinboard in your choice of colour ways and ship to you.
The Studio is easily reachable by public transport. (5 or so mins from Lewes Train Station - serviced regularly by trains from London and Brighton - and by the 28 & 29 Bus Route).
All activities are entered into at the participants own risk.
